Skoutari is crafted from the Koroneiki olive variety, sourced exclusively from our family’s olive groves on the fertile island of Crete. This exceptional, organic extra virgin olive oil is produced in small batches and is known for its beneficial nutritional properties (as outlined in Commission Regulation (EU) No 432/2012).

Our process begins with an early harvest of the olives, followed by meticulous care in their gathering and immediate cold pressing at temperatures below 27°C. This careful approach results in an olive oil with low acidity, distinctive aromas, and a high polyphenol content. The polyphenols in our olive oil play a key role in protecting blood lipids from oxidative stress.

This means that with a daily intake of Skoutari olive oil as part of a balanced diet, you protect yourself from cardiovascular disease, regulate your blood sugar and cholesterol, and strengthen your immune system. According to current studies, the consumption of olive oil that is rich in polyphenols has a positive effect on people suffering from Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, and some forms of cancer.

Recommended Consumption and Storage:

  • Should be treated as a food supplement, where it is consumed daily (in order to fully reap the benefits) and preferably raw on your foods and salads
  • For example, a light drizzle over a salad or as a 20g raw supplement (just over a tablespoon)
  • It is recommended to use it quickly, before the Best Before date. Once it is opened it is critical to take care of it in order to minimize the loss of the phenolic content and preserve the integrity of its health benefits.
  • Close the bottle well after every use. Phenolic compounds will simply evaporate from an open bottle within a short period of time
  • Storing olive oil in a cool dark place will prolong its qualities of extra virginity and high phenolic content.
