In a dry guys world “A shovel is just a shovel” and, let's be honest, to call a spade a spade, they are not wrong. However, anyone who has structured their life around trail building, chosen a home near the woods, a job with hours that allow them to spend maximum time attached to the end of said shovel, or has chosen a life of getting paid fuck all in order to actually build trails for money, it goes without saying that the tools we use can spell the difference between fucked wrists, back pain and long hours vs days of blissful, productive, stacking and sculpting in the woods. For those of us who know the pain of grafting for years with a fibreglass, short handled, tool station digging spade, the subtle differences in handle length, handle material, head angle, head weight, thickness and shape are all contributing factors in the shovels we choose to use on a daily basis.
Trailshark Shovels are for the people who know how hard it is to find a decent shovel, one that doesn't weigh too much, has a decent head angle, allows you to dig in a comfortable position and doesn't leave the fucking little buttcheek divet mark in the ground when you're trying to polish up the final pack on a fresh landing. These are the first set of 50 shovels that we have designed and hand finished, with the intention of creating the best shovel for digging trails as possible. Featuring 130cm linseed treated, curved and tapered Ash euro style handle, attached to a 250x210mm pressed carbon steel head with a 130mm effective lift, finished with a clear polyester powder coat varnish.
We have been testing/developing these fucker’s for the past few years on both commercial trail building jobs and at our own spots and we’re stoked to get some out into the world and get some feedback. Now go dig you little cunts.
